I’m not sure I have blogged about my banner yet! Here is the scoop. Julianna Kirwin put together a public arts project. When all was said and done, I had a pretty banner hanging from a lamp post on 5th and Mountain Road. My banner will hang for a year along with others that span the blocks between 5th and 12th Street. I was especially excited to have my piece hung across the street from a banner of Johnny Tapia. Very cool.
I love this painting. The colors are vibrant, the brush strokes are pretty and the subject is my favorite.
This is version number 4 of 5. Long story. I painted lots of these and ready to move on. This painting is 16 x 20 inches, oil on canvas.

Speaking of Hollyhock, I just joined a painting group called Let’s Paint New Mexico (Thank you John French). I was excited to see that Hollyhock are on the menu. They grow like weeds around here.
