The more I stare at this, the more I like it. Sometimes, it takes me a few days to really appreciate what I’ve painted. I know the difference between what I had in mind and what my hand decided to do. This was inspired by a monthly lesson I do with Nancy Medina of white lilies.
I had a showing this last weekend for Let’s Paint New Mexico. My dad wanted challenge 18, which I didn’t paint. I just finished it this morning. He likes it! I do too.
This is a local ditch bank in Corrales, New Mexico with the Sandia Mountains in the background.
I’m learning to paint roses.
This is version number 4 of 5. Long story. I painted lots of these and ready to move on. This painting is 16 x 20 inches, oil on canvas.
More experimenting with salt, but this time I used crackle paste as well. I like it. I have not decided if I am going to paint an actual picture on this yet.
