I’ve never painted yellow poppies and felt I needed to.  I like it!  This is an 18 x 24 inch palette knife oil painting.

Orange and Purple Flowers 18 x 18 Inch Still Life

I have no idea what these flowers are.  I have them in planters outside.  The purple are some kind of salvia, but I am at a loss with the orange.  At any rate, I thought I would put them on canvas.

Sunflower Still Life 18 x 18 Inch Oil Painting

This is a rework of a previous painting.  Originally, the painting was purple with yellow sunflowers.  I changed a few things.  The most obvious being that the vase is now orange.  I personally like it better because I enjoy lots of color.  The orange made my day.  However, my mom, for example prefers the previous version.  To each his own, especially with art.

This is the previous version.  I was working with compliments and kept the painting mainly to purple and yellow.

Hollyhock 12 x 16 Inch Oil Painting

This is a 12 x 16 inch oil painting inspired by my garden of Hollyhock. I have scarlet, lilac, pink, black, pale pink and various shades in between.

Speaking of Hollyhock, I just joined a painting group called Let’s Paint New Mexico (Thank you John French). I was excited to see that Hollyhock are on the menu.  They grow like weeds around here.
