I am enjoying working with red and green.  This painting is very similar to one I did a few weeks ago.

  1. Beautiful! I will definitely leave the flower-painting to you. 🙂 I tried one little bouquet a couple of weeks ago. What a disaster! I’m even more in awe of your talents now. I really like the colors you’ve used in this painting.

    1. Awww. Thank you so much Judith. I appreciate that. I love painting flowers so much and the colors….oh I love color and learning how to work with it. Long way to go, but I think getting better every painting. I thought about painting some books….with a vase of flowers to mix it up a bit. Lol.

      1. Books…that’s a tough subject. One of my earliest drawing practices was a “simple” stack of books. I thought it would be easy. That’s why I chose it. Oh, my gosh. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to draw! All those angles. 😦 Never again. I’ll leave the books to you along with the flowers. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Cindy. Every day there is something new to try to get into the painting…even if it is just a shadow or reflection. I am learning slowly but surely…

      1. That’s life, isn’t it! One big learning experience. I tried my hand at painting yesterday. First attempt got wiped off with paper towel. Second wasn’t too bad. Really different working with acrylic vs oil. Not used to the lack of body in the paints.

        1. Ya, the lack of body is something I don’t like either. I use the golden heavy body but it does not hold brush strokes. You have to add a gel to it and still…not the same as oils. You get texture with the gel, so ok for palette knife, but still not the same in the brush strokes area…imo.

        2. I’m using the heavy body with a gel medium added. You are right it doesn’t show brush strokes. That’s the biggest thing about oils that I liked. You could easily build depth and texture. Almost a soft flowing texture.
