White Ranunculus in Blue Vase 18 x 24 Inch Still Life Oil Painting

This is an 18 x 24 inch still life oil painting of white ranunculus in a blue vase.  This painting is done with palette knife and lots of paint.  The flowers remind me of cupcakes.  Definitely touchable.

  1. Hi Dawn! Great painting. For me, using a lot of white is always tricky, it can easily look cold and washed out. I think you handled it well here, the creamy warm tone in the flowers is the star of the painting.

    1. Thank you Fritz! I agree about the white so I tend to shy away. I am glad I didn’t this time. I like the warm in the flowers too. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Thank you Debi. I picked up the knife to do the back ground and never put it down. You know why? I didn’t feel like cleaning more than the one brush that I had used to outline the vase. Pure laziness!!! I really like it…colors are great! The kind of colors that make you want tea.
