Red Flowers and Berries Oil Painting Still Life 11 X 14 Inch

This is an 11 X 14 inch painting of red flowers in a green vase surrounded by berries.  I have not decided what kind of flowers they are.  I suppose you could call them poinsettias especially with the red and green color scheme.  When I painted them I was just practicing brush strokes so these are red genflowers.  That is what my husband calls generic flowers.

    1. Giggle. I try to paint at least four days a week. Sometimes more. Although, sleeping for the last week has pretty much stunk. Up at 4 am again. Ugh.

  1. Ah generic or not, these red flowers are very timely for the Christmas season. Agree with you they look like mini poinsettias. They reminded me of the time my Mother used to put poinsettias in our Christmas tree as added decor. She won’t settle for any other color but red. Beautifully done Dawn. For a practice piece, this is one great painting.

    1. Oh thank you! On this one, I just started throwing down strokes and figured it would turn into something. My husband is the one who came up with the snazzy “genflower” description a little while ago. It was pretty funny when my sister asked what of flowers they were last time I did genflowers…and I said genflowers. She went to look them up on the googler. Hehe.

    1. Thank you. Oh boy. I am kinda embarrassed to admit, but still using my iPhone. I have another camera. It is just not as convenient. But, at least I know they don’t look too bad right? One day I will mess around with those editing programs you have been showing us lately.
